Haying is a 3 day process on the farm.
First, we mow the hay fields and tedder it out for the sun to dry. In case you didn't grow up on a farm, a tedder is a machine used after we mow that "fluffs up" the hay so it can dry faster. Sometimes depending on the weather this step can take a few extra days. On the third day we have to rake it into rows and bale it up.
Each season we bale roughly 25,000 bales. Where does it all go? We provide our hay to local horse farms, cattle farms, our own livestock on the farm, and construction companies.
